MendingMap Terms of Use
MendingMap is a map of warungs, warkops and street carts in Jakarta, made by the people who eat there. These terms apply to the MendingMap app and to mendingmap.com. Before your first post the app shows you a short summary and asks you to agree; you only have to agree once for each version of these terms.
1. Your account
- The app makes an anonymous account on your phone. There is no sign-up and no password.
- You must be at least 13. If you are 13–17, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Your account lives on your phone. If you lose the phone or reinstall the app, you may lose the account; we cannot always bring it back.
2. What you can post
Places (with the point on the map, a photo and a dish with its price), prices and opening hours, reviews (words, a five-second clip with its sound, or both), photos of a place, votes and confirmations, and reports.
What you post is public straight away. A place you add is marked "not confirmed yet" until three people who have been there confirm it. Other people can correct prices and opening hours, and a person on our side reads what is posted.
3. The rules — zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
Post only what is true and what you saw yourself. Do not post:
- hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that attacks people for who they are;
- sexual content, graphic violence, or anything illegal;
- hoaxes: fake places, fake prices, photos that are not from the place, or reviews of places you have not been to;
- spam, advertising, or the same thing again and again;
- other people's personal information, or a person's face in a photo without their permission.
The [Community Guidelines](https://mendingmap.com/guidelines) explain these rules with examples.
We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. We remove content that breaks these rules, and we can stop an account from posting. Serious violations may be reported to the authorities under Indonesian law, including the ITE law.
4. Reporting and hiding
Every place, review, clip and photo has a report button, and we look at every report within 24 hours. A review you report disappears from your own screen straight away. You can also hide a person's reviews so you no longer see them.
5. Your content and our licence
What you post stays yours. By posting it you give MendingMap a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, show, copy, resize and share it inside the app, on mendingmap.com (including the pages that open when someone shares a place), and when we tell people about MendingMap.
6. Deleting your account
Delete your account from Profile → Edit profile → Delete account, or from Settings. Your name, bio and photo stop being shown. What you contributed — places, reviews, clips, prices, opening hours, ratings and votes — stays on the map without your name, and the licence above continues for it. To ask for something to be removed, write to contact@mendingmap.com.
7. No guarantees
MendingMap is information from people, provided as it is. We do not guarantee that a price, opening time or place is correct or still exists. Check before you travel far. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using this information.
8. Changes
When these terms change, the app asks you to agree again before your next post. The current version is always at https://mendingmap.com/terms.
